Eligibility To become a participant for the next Competition Cycle you must meet all criteria as shown below:
For Miss America: age 18-28 - must be no older than 28 on September 30, 2026 and no younger than 18 on September 1, 2026.
For Miss America’s Teen: age 14-18 - must be no younger than 14 by September 1, 2026 and no older than 18 on September 30, 2026.
Be a United States citizen
Be a female
Be living full-time as a resident of your state, or employed full-time in person, or enrolled full-time as a student at an accredited school/college
Raise $30 for the American Heart Association through Spotfund and purchase a Miss America Membership Subscription for $49.99

Phases of Competition
Private Interview (30%) Wardrobe:Delegates Choice - Fashionable Interview Attire (age appropriate) Timing:30 second opening, 9 minute Q&A, optional 30 second wrap up or closing statement. Judges will use delegate's Fact Sheet and Community Service Initiative Statement.
Health & Fitness (20%) Wardrobe: Delegate's Choice of Rebel X Miss America Collab Red Collection fitness outfit. Timing:High energy stage routine with movement and posing no longer than 20-30 seconds. Purpose:This phase of the competition is where the delegate showcases her commitment to health and fitness initiatives, which is a key to success in all other areas of life.

Performing Arts Talent/HERStory (20%) Timing:Up to 90 seconds Purpose: To underscore the Miss America and Miss America's Teen commitment to supporting performance arts education initiatives and women's individual efforts in dance, music, opera/vocal, drama, magic, oratory and circus arts.
Evening Gown (20%) Wardrobe:Delegate’s Choice of Evening Wear Purpose: Delegate will publicly present her sense of style wearing an evening gown in a fashion suitable for an appearance as Teen/Miss Local/Miss State. Part of a titleholder’s role is to attend galas, fundraisers, awards shows, and other formal events. This often involves walking a red carpet, posting for the press photographers, modeling in fashion shows, promoting various national fashion designers who partner with Miss America or Miss America’s Teen programs.
On-Stage Conversation (10%) Wardrobe:Delegate’s Choice of Evening Wear Purpose: The delegate will answer an on-stage question.

How to Enter: Step One: Register with Miss America and pay $49.99 membership Step Two: Receive and Complete the Delegate Contract *Contract may take 24-48 hours to receive Register for each individual local in which you choose to compete by contacting the Local Director. Step Three: Receive the Spotfund email with link and complete registration (Must make a new link each cycle.) and raise $30 per local competition through Spotfund benefitting the American Heart Association. Step Four: Register for any Local Competition *Contact each Local Director for competition specific information Step Five: Submit the Delegate Registration Paperwork
